Solomon Dixon Foundation
The Solomon Dixon Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt nonprofit organization in the Washington D.C metropolitan area; which focus on cleaning homes and inspiring people going through treatment, whether chemotherapy or radiation. We clean homes for men, women and children for the whole duration of treatment. The services are based on the general cleaning method (listed below) and we can cater to some specific needs. We also share inspiring stories and give flowers and books from donations. We strive to provide a clean home as well as equip and educate patients about how to strengthen themselves internally and externally to help defeat the disease.
This foundation covers the total cost to clean a home and make it FREE for someone currently going through chemotherapy and/or radiation. We also use environmentally safe, non toxic cleaning products, because it is safe for the environment as well as health friendly. Most people undergoing chemotherapy are very sensitive to smells and really need to have non hazardous cleaning products. The purpose will give patients who are struggling with the energy to clean their home some assistance not only for their home, but for their health. People who are having such treatments need to have a clean environment but find it difficult to keep up with their homes themselves. This foundation will make it possible for them to have a clean home without having to lift a finger.
The service will include a general cleaning for the each patients home. General cleaning includes the following:
Living Room/Bedrooms
· Vacuum/Mop Floor surfaces
· Vacuum furniture
· Clean glass tables
· Remove Cobwebs
· Dust windowsills and baseboards
· Make Beds
· Tidy Rooms
· Dust picture frames
· Dust window blinds
· Dust ceiling fans within reach
· Empty Trash
Kitchen
· Clean and sanitize counter tops, sinks and faucets
· Clean outside of all appliances
· Clean inside microwaves
· Clean Outside of cabinets
· Load/Unload the dishwasher
· Wipe off tables and chairs
· Dust baseboards
· Clean/Mop the floor
· Clean oven range top
· Empty trash
Bathrooms
· Clean and sanitize counters, sinks, showers, and bathtubs
· Clean and sanitize inside and out and behind toilets
· Clean mirrors and Faucets
· Vacuum/Sanitize floors
· Dust light fixtures within reach
· Dust Baseboards
· Clean Outside of cabinets
· Replace fold towels
· Empty Trash
This organization uses our own people to clean the homes our volunteers consists of nurses, scientists, health administrators, pharmacologists, and teachers who all come together for the well being of people undergoing the treatment to defeat cancer. We train all volunteers and employees to meet the specific needs of people going through this disease.
Our Mission
The mission of the foundation is to provide chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy patients either man, woman, or child a service by cleaning their homes for FREE for the whole duration of treatment so they can focus their energy on maintaining great mental and physical health to defeat the disease.
Our Vision
The vision is to provide inspiring support to chemotherapy/ radiation therapy patients nationwide by cleaning their homes. Patients with cancer undergoing the treatment of chemotherapy and radiation therapy are offered a "gift" for FREE home cleaning the whole duration of treatment to decrease the burden or worries about keeping up with their homes. When we are invited to their homes we bring smiles, happiness and positive energy and focus on making their homes spotless.
